Toxic Foam Photographs That Pollute the River Tiete

Toxic Foam Photographs That Pollute the River Tiete. Tiete River in the city Pirapora do Bom Jesus, Brazil is the most polluted rivers throughout Brazil.

"The foam is largely due to household waste that is filtered from the nearby city of Sao Paulo, the largest city in Brazil." According to Malu Ribeiro, water program coordinator for the local environment for non-profit SOS Mata Atlantica.

"The waste flows directly into rivers through sewage pipes," he added.

This foam is formed when water mixes with phosphorus and phosphate materials-these materials can be found in products such as biodegradable detergents, Ribeiro said.
